Chinese Woman with Antlers
Chinese Woman with Antlers
This is one of my favorite paintings because it feels both powerful and intimate at the same time. The sharp, deliberate brush strokes create a sense of movement and tension, giving her presence a striking intensity. Each line feels intentional — raw yet controlled — adding depth and emotion to her expression.
The antlers symbolize strength, transformation, and a connection to nature. They rise from her gracefully, suggesting both protection and power, while also hinting at vulnerability. The symbols placed by her side make the composition even more compelling. They introduce mystery and narrative, inviting the viewer to question their meaning — are they ancestral marks, spiritual language, or fragments of memory?
This painting stands out to me because it feels layered. It balances softness and sharpness, tradition and imagination, humanity and myth. It is a portrait, but it is also a story — one that continues to unfold each time I look at it.
